Photography Pricing

Each photography assignment is clearly quoted based on a thorough understanding of the shoot requirements and shot list. I’m always happy to meet with clients in advance to discuss and plan the shoot in detail.

Most quotes are made up of a photography fee for either a full-day or half-day rate, plus a fee for the time spent on digital download, shot selection and post-production. Other costs such as crew, travel and studio hire are quoted based on the requirements of the shoot.

How important is a Head Shot

Headshot is Fundamental

The goal of your headshot is to show professionalism, personality, and your brand if that’s applicable. A professional headshot shows that you care.

You’ll take yourself seriously and others will, too. A great headshot ensures you’re making the best impression possible, which makes you feel good about your personal brand and what other professionals are thinking when they see your image.

Headshots are as much a part of your branding as your logo.

Corporate Commercial Photo Shoot

I work with a Half Day or Full Day photo shoot.  Should any specialty shots such as twilights or low-level aerials be requested I typically need an additional hour of access to the property.  There are no short cuts to obtaining the level of quality my clients have come to expect.  It is a time consuming and laborious process but one that I approach with passion and enthusiasm every time.

In most cases I am able to deliver a final product between 48-72 hours. Should more time be required due to the size of the photo shoot the client will be informed before the shoot takes place.

Once completed, I give the client the option of taking delivery from one of several online download links, like Dropbox, www.WeTransfer.com or FTP upload.  My goal is to make obtaining the finished photos as easy and convenient as possible for the client.

Yes.  The photos presented on my website are actual images delivered to my clients.  Every client receives the same attention to detail and professionalism that I have built my reputation on.  If I accept your assignment rest assured your images will look just as good as what you have seen so far.  Your satisfaction is guaranteed or I will do what it takes to make it right.

No.  If the images I deliver do not live up to your expectations I will void the license and you pay nothing.  Please note that a property release is still required from the homeowner should the client exercise this option.

Due to the nature of this type of photography service, there are occasions where it is necessary to reschedule.  Rescheduling requests made by the client within 24 hours of the appointment time may be subject to a rescheduling fee.  In the event of inclimate weather or the prospect of less than ideal shooting conditions, I will offer an alternative appointment time at no penalty to the client.

No.  I typically work alone but architects, homeowners, stylist, etc. are more than welcome to be present.  In regards to gaining access to the property, arrangements will need to be made to allow me entry.  Furthermore, commercial work require arrangements be made in advance for me to enter the property.

I am proud to say that I oversee all my post processing and editing.  In fact I have developed proprietary techniques and methods that set me apart from other architectural and Interiors photographers.  I also have strategic alliances with some of the best retouchers in the business.  In the event that special attention is needed to an image(s) that falls outside my area of expertise a specialist is just a phone call away.

Both.  I am equipped with several supplemental lights and strobes as well specialty items such as umbrellas and gels.  All shots are taken to make the best use of available light but I can and will use supplemental lighting should the occasion call for it.

No.  I retain all copyrights expressed and implied otherwise. I grant a license in which the client may use the photos for any marketing purpose they wish provided they do not violate the copyright by selling, leasing or gifting the photos to third parties.  The license is granted to the person that paid for the photos.  If the architect paid, the architect gets the license.  For full information regarding licensing and usage please contact me directly.  If the client wishes to have ownership and copyright transferred it may be purchased at an amount equal to 5x the package price.

Yes.  The license does allow you to use the photos to advertise you or your services in addition to marketing the subject property.  In the event the client wishes to use any of the images in this manner, photo credit must be clearly given somewhere on the photo or page in which they appear.  Failure to do this may void the license granted by the copyright holder.  Once the license expires, arrangements must be made to extend the license.  The license is a single user license.  Images may not be used by third parties without the written consent of the photographer.

We recommend the services of a professional makeup artist to create a really great headshot.
If you are confident in your own makeup application below are some tips to get the best result.

  • Your makeup is best kept simple and fresh, apply as you would for a light evening application.
  • Use a lipstick or gloss which is quite close to your natural lip colour
  • A matte look is preferable so try to avoid using a mineral based foundation as these can be too reflective using flash photography.
  • Be sure to finish with a translucent or pressed powder over your liquid foundation to avoid shine.
  • You may like to bring touch-up makeup as well (compact powder and lip gloss)
  • If your hair is going to be out, please ensure that it is smooth and neat for the day – consider how your hair will look from all angles.

Yes, off-street parking is available for your convenience. We can also supply you with a location map to assist you in finding us, please contact me for more details.

We try to maintain the same hours as our clients (9am to 5pm. Mon-Fri). In special circumstances we are able to shoot after hours. For example if you are after your final image as a late afternoon shot outdoors (during summer months) Weekend are available.

We cover any poses you require. During your shoot we will coach you as to the looks that best suit you. We will turn and angle your face and discover your best side and angles, then focus on those to achieve the best outcome for you! Our most popular portrait styles are (head and shoulders), ¾ length, full length. Smiling, gesturing, seated, leaning on desk, hand-to-cheek or chin, slight head tilts, engaged and natural. If you require any specific props please contact the studio prior to your shoot. To see if they are available.

Light image enhancements are automatically provided with your files. A range of professional retouching services are also available as an optional. These include evening up your eyes, removing lines or blemishes, brightening teeth. Through to double chins, jaw contouring, general body contouring and beyond. All our work looks natural and can be carried out to your specifications.

We recommend avoiding strong patterns or logos as these tend to distract the eye and date over time. A shirt with a jacket is best for a full corporate look, or without a jacket for a more casual look for women. For men a suit jacket is the preferred option. Black or blue suits work well with white, grey or timber settings. Grey or blue suits and lighter colours work best with our environmental styles (see Galleries). Women’s tops may be without a collar however sleeves are recommended in most cases. Dresses without sleeves can work well but consider the focus of the shot is on the upper portion of your body unless you require a 3/4 of full body shots.

If you have any layouts of websites or printed material that will be displaying your new portrait, or if you have seen images that you like. It’s a good idea to send these to us a few days prior to the shoot. This will give us time to analyse the images and plan your shoot prior to the day. If you were unhappy with your previous business portrait you might like to bring it with you or send it to us as well. Anything else that will help you relax is also great music requests.

We recommend avoiding strong patterns or logos as these tend to distract the eye and date over time. A plainer shirt or top is best for an actors look as we normally only see your top half for headshots. For men, black, grey or earth colours work best. Women’s tops work well in most colours. Although it’s always good to remember that lighter and brighter colours draw the eye away from your face. So medium to darker colours are best to get noticed in your shots. For dancer’s and performers we suggest bringing along a few changes of clothes and costumes especially if we are shooting dance or more full length images showing off your movement/technique and body.

If you have seen images that you like. It’s a good idea to send these to us a few days prior to the shoot. This will give us time to analyse the images and plan your shoot prior to the day. If we are shooting a promo pack for instance with 3 individual looks think about a particular feel or role you may imagine yourself in for at least one of the shots.

If you have a talent or skill you would like to highlight bring along a suitable prop. If you are a musician/ performer then bring your instrument of choice or perhaps a nice microphone/stand so we can shoot a great onstage shot. Anything else that will help you get into the mood like great music requests for us to play during your session!
